Network of Museums & Cultural Organisations of the Historical Centre of Athens

The Directorate of the National Archive of Monuments along with other state bodies and private non-profit organisations located in the historical centre of Athens, as this was defined by Hansen, is participating in the creation of a network. The meetings of this network take place on the last Monday of every month.

To date the following museums and foundations have participated in the meetings:
1.  Kerameikos Archaeological Museum
2.  Museum of Greek Popular Art
3.  Directorate of the National Archive of Monuments
4.  Centre for the Study of Modern Pottery
5.  Museum of Greek Children's Art
6.  Museum of the City of Athens
7.  Museum of the Political Exiles of Ai Strati
8.  "Herakleidon, Experience in Visual Arts" Museum
9.  Jewish Museum of Greece
10. Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum
11. Foundation of Culture & Education "Andreas Lentakis"

The members of the Network, while maintaining their independence within the frame of the Network, they will maintain their relationship with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The Ministry will not supervise the Network itself, however it will continue to supervise those member that either form part of the Ministry or are supervised by it.

Some of the objectives of the Network include the creation of a communal communication base for promotion through a common dynamic website and printed material, the scientific cooperation for the promotion of museum and archival museum material, the participation in common projects and, in general, the mutual assistance of the members.
